DE#1 Discover Denali: Guided Walking Tour (Easy Walk)

Step into the heart of Alaska’s wilderness on a guided walk that highlights the fascinating relationships between the land, wildlife, and people who call this region home. Beginning in the lush boreal forest, the trail gradually transitions into unique subarctic landscapes, including taiga, tundra, and permafrost terrain. Towering mountains and resilient plants and animals provide endless opportunities for discovery, with your naturalist guide pausing often to share stories and insights along the way. This experience typically covers 2–3 miles over the course of about 2.5 hours on maintained trails. Depending on conditions, we explore front-country routes inside Denali National Park as well as trails on nearby state and native corporation lands. Since we don’t use set paths, your guide chooses the best location for the group, weather, and day’s conditions—though guest preferences are always welcome. Pick up from local Denali hotels is included. Duration 3 hrs, Daily departure times are: 7:40 AM, 1:00 PM, 5:00 PM, 6:30 PM, Price per person $130

DE#2 Glacier & Tundra Discovery Hike (Hiking Tour)

Designed for adventurous travelers, this is our most challenging guided hike—and one of the most rewarding. While still a narrated experience, this tour dives deeper into the geology, ecology, and stunning scenery of the Denali area. Along the route, your guide interprets the unique glacial features of the landscape while leading the group through several ecosystems: the forested corridors near the Nenana River, the brushy but wildlife-rich subalpine tundra, and the hardy vegetation of the taiga. Sweeping mountain views make the effort well worth it. Expect to cover 5–6 miles over about 4.5 hours, with elevation gains of up to 1,500 feet. Terrain and exact routes vary, as your guide chooses the best location for the day based on group ability, weather, and local conditions. Trails may be inside Denali National Park or on adjacent state or native corporation lands. Pick up from local Denali hotels is included. Duration 5 hrs, Daily departure time: 11:15 AM, Price per person $190

DE#3 Denali Wilderness Hike  (Strenuous Hike)

Created for active travelers, this challenging hike combines adventure with in-depth interpretation of Denali’s remarkable landscapes. While exploring, your guide will explain the glacial features that shaped the area and lead you through a variety of ecosystems—from the forested stretches near the Nenana River to the wildlife-rich subalpine tundra and the hardy taiga with its sweeping views. Expect to hike 4–6 miles over about 3.5 hours, with elevation gains of up to 1,500 feet. The tour takes place on front-country trails within Denali National Park as well as nearby public lands, depending on the group, weather, and daily conditions. If you have a preference, simply let your guide know at pickup. This tour works well for those departing on the 12:00 pm train—your guide can drop you off directly at the depot for your 12:30 pm departure. Due to the strenuous nature of this experience, participants must be at least 15 years old and comfortable with a challenging hike. Pick up from local Denali hotels is included. Duration 4 hrs, Daily departure time: 7:30 AM, Price per person $160

DE#4 Denali Helicopter Wilderness Hike

Discover Alaska’s wilderness from two unforgettable perspectives—by air and on foot. Your adventure begins with a thrilling helicopter ride from our private riverside heliport, where you’ll soar above rugged mountains, sweeping valleys, and possibly catch views of Denali and Mt. Deborah. The flight transports you to a remote alpine area, normally accessible only by a full day’s trek. Once you land above the tree line, your naturalist guide will lead a gentle, customized hike across rolling tundra and along alpine ridges. Along the way, you’ll learn about the resilient plants and animals that thrive in this harsh environment, with the chance to spot wildlife in their natural habitat. The combination of high mountain scenery, fresh tundra air, and expert interpretation makes this a one-of-a-kind experience. To keep the hike flexible and enjoyable, groups are kept small, allowing your guide to tailor the pace and distance to match guest interests and ability levels.

Tour Details:
~15 minutes of scenic helicopter flight
~ 3–3.5 hours of guided tundra hiking
~ Seating arranged for safety; we’ll do our best to keep groups together, though some may be split between aircraft
