Trips can be customized with more days on the trail and/or more nights in Bettles at the Aurora Lodge. A word from Sven: “ This overnight trip is guided by me, Sven, along with a snow machine support partner. Most of the dogs are veterans of the Iditarod sled dog race and are very well behaved and friendly with people. I recommend that you like dogs but you don’t have to be a dog fanatic in order to enjoy this trip. You do need to be an outdoor enthusiast and ready to tackle the cold.

Yukon Territory: Tagish Lake Lodge Winter Adventure

Winter season is a very special period at Tagish Lake. Although daylight is short, there are a lot of ways to spend your vacation at Tagish Wilderness Lodge – be active and hike through the winter forests, pamper yourself in our wood-heated whirlpool or simply relax and take a deep breath of fresh, clean air. Yukon's Winter Wonderland awaits you – experience the crystal clear winter days, deeply frozen lakes and take part in a choice of typical Yukon activities like dogsledding, snowmobiling, snowshoeing or even watching the mystic Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis). Your adventurous day ends with a hearty, home-cooked dinner, lovingly prepared by your Swiss hosts. In your cozy log cabin, you will gather new energy for the next exciting day.

Iniakuk Lake Wilderness Lodge Winter Adventures

Chances are high you've never been on a dog sled before so we'll teach you the commands, how to steer, how to stop, and the importance of hanging on. We often hitch up two sleds to one team for your first trip so you get a feel for the trail, but an experienced musher is in control and there to talk you through the process. The mushing season is short in the Brooks Range and therefore we only offer tours in March and April, when the days are long and the snow conditions are perfect. Depending on your personal itinerary, you can spend your days cross-country skiing and snowshoeing or dog sledding, or you may choose to sit by the wood fire and enjoy the incredible peace and quiet scenery of a winter wilderness.

Denali Park Wilderness Dog Mushing

Experience Denali Park in Winter! Denali Expeditions is the only concessionaire licensed to operate overnight trips in the interior of the Denali Park Wilderness. Mush to spectacular Wonder Lake and along the park road corridor - no one else can get you closer to the magnificent North Face of Mount McKinley ! Our trips are fully interactive and Denali National Park provides many options for dog sled travel. From river bars and mountain passes to the Alaska Range glacier system, you will see a piece of wilderness most people will only see in the pages of magazines and books. For the fans of the book or movie "Into the Wild", we are offering dog sledding trips that go to the Sushana Bus along the Stampede Trail. You can choose to visit the bus, or camp nearby.
